FMS - Activated Carbon Fiber Sheet / Paper / Felt
FMS is UNITIKA’s activated carbon sheet media available in sheet, paper and felt-like forms. Made with activated carbon fiber, FMS provides low pressure loss, high flow rate and fast adsorption performance for water and air purification applications.
Its fibrous structure allows water and air to pass through smoothly, helping shorten processing time while maintaining efficient adsorption. FMS can also be combined with other filter materials or processed into pleated filters, punched parts and custom filter components.
Extra Sheet Grades are available for specific gas contaminants, including acid gases, alkaline gases, aldehydes, VOCs and odor-causing substances.
Features of FMS Activated Carbon Sheet
- High adsorption performance even in one-pass flow processes
FMS provides excellent kinetic adsorption, making it suitable for water and air filtration systems where long contact time is difficult to secure.
- Effective removal of low-concentration contaminating gases
FMS can adsorb low-concentration gas contaminants and odor-causing substances, depending on the selected grade and filter design.
- Low pressure loss and smooth water or air flow
The fibrous structure of FMS allows water and air to pass through smoothly, supporting high flow rate filtration with low pressure loss.
- Less carbon dust for cleaner handling
Compared with sheets impregnated with powdered activated carbon, FMS generates much less carbon dust during handling and processing.
- Flexible processing into custom dimensions and shapes
FMS activated carbon sheet media can be punched, cut, layered or combined with other materials for use in custom filters and pleated filter structures.

Extra Sheet Grades for Air Filtration
UNITIKA offers Extra Sheet Grades designed for specific target gases and odor-causing substances. These grades can be selected according to the required gas adsorption performance, including ammonia, trimethylamine, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and volatile organic compounds such as aldehydes.
